Warburton Terrace, Walthamstow
The project involved the completion of a 43 rented dwelling scheme in Walthamstow. The development was on a site containing existing bungalows which were to be demolished under a separate contract and to construct 27 houses and 16 flats.
The selected method of construction was timber frame on the houses and concrete frame on the flats.
There were a number of challenges resulting from the constrained urban nature of the site including a statutory service diversions and buildovers, stopping up an existing highway, Japanese Knotweed, unexploded bomb surveys, oversailing licenses, which needed to be carefully planned and programmed to ensure the most cost and program efficient route to completion.
