Oxbury were appointed by Lotus Cars to complete the Production Building and fitout of a new 200,000ft² facility to manufacture new and existing models. The works included a new roadway, parking, charging facilities and a new fuel store.

The building project had its challenges as there was an existing steel frame already constructed 12 years earlier, which was completed and adapted for the new building requirements. Oxbury provided Project and Cost Management advice, working with and managing the professional team to design and deliver the project.

The project was separated into two separate elements with the shell and core works completed by VINCI Construction. The fit-out element was delivered using a Construction Management approach. The fit-out works included a new modern office facility for the Engineering and facilities team, plus a canteen for production staff and a state of the art production line, including monsoon chambers, sprinkler systems, mechanical and electrical works and the interior cladding finish.

Oxbury managed each of the contract packages and their associated change control throughout the project. The overall scheme was delivered within budget.

The building is now fully operational and the production of cars has commenced.
