Benefits of Working With Us

We are an established and forward-thinking company where everyone is treated as an individual.  You won't be 'a cog in the machine' here.  We value all our staff and strive to offer a professional and supportive working environment where everyone is encouraged to achieve their own career goals.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a generous benefits package including basic salary (with additional location allowances in Chelmsford, Cambridge and London); car or travel allowance (for MRICS or equivalent); non-contributory pension scheme with an Employer contribution of 9%; and enhanced holiday, sickness, maternity and paternity packages.  We support a variety of working patterns and many of our current staff benefit from part-time, compressed hours or home working agreements.

Oxbury provides generous practical and financial support for training.  All staff are supported in their Continuous Professional Development and professional memberships and we offer both internal and external training opportunities.

Culture

We are a professional service-driven Company and expect our staff to behave professionally and to treat each other and our clients with respect at all times.  All our staff are treated as individuals and allowed the freedom to manage their own time and projects within our Quality Assured procedures.

All of our Directors are involved in the day to day running of the Company and are available to provide support and advice as and when required.  Our Managing Director keeps staff up-to-date with plans for the Company and he and the Board are keen to listen to ideas and suggestions.

Our staff work a wide variety of full-time, part-time, hybrid and flexible working patterns and, regardless of the hours they work, all have the same opportunities for training and promotion.

Structure

Progression is based on qualifications and performance, not on waiting for someone more senior to leave.   Everyone, including Directors, shares an open plan office so you'll always have the opportunity to ask questions; and to bounce ideas off or share your knowledge and experience with colleagues.

Training

We have a long history of training new Surveyors and we currently have three Trainees completing a Degree Apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying.  We support our staff to complete the RICS APC pathway and have a good history of first-time passes.  With knowledgeable Supervisors and an APC Assessor on staff you'll get all the financial and practical support you need to become Chartered.

We recognise the importance of continuous professional development and encourage all staff to undertake additional learning in areas that particularly interest them.  One of our Senior Project Surveyors has just embarked on an MSc in Construction Project Management whilst another recently finished an MSc in Construction Law.  We encourage all staff to attend relevant seminars and to network to expand their knowledge and industry contacts.

Offices

Our Norwich team work from a new barn-style building in Hethersett, just to the West of Norwich.  There is easy access from the A11 / A47, with free on-site parking.

Our Chelmsford and Cambridge offices are on modern purpose-built business parks with easy access from major roads and free on-site parking.

Our London office is just a few minutes from Liverpool Street Station.

All of our offices are light and airy, open plan and spacious.  All have kitchen facilities with complementary drinks for our staff.  Our offices are open Monday to Friday, but most of our staff choose to work in a hybrid way with some days in the office and some days from home.  As a Company we understand the benefits of this flexibility and encourage our staff to find a good balance.

Social Events

We have whole Company social events a few times a year.  We're fond of trying out local restaurants but have also been for a cruise on the Norfolk Broads, bowling, theatre trips and punting in Cambridge.  Our social events tend to be relaxed and low key and no one is forced to attend or do anything they are uncomfortable with.

Inclusion

We hold the RICS Inclusive Employer Quality Mark.  This recognises employers who put diversity and inclusivity at the heart of their business and employment practices.  As a small firm we are able to treat everyone as an individual with their own needs and aspirations.

Environmental, Social and Governance Policy

The Firm has a clear commitment to our environmental, social and governance policy.  We treat our staff, customers and suppliers with dignity and respect.  We strive to reduce our impact on the environment and to support our local community.  We are an ethical and socially responsible business.
