Code Level 6 Awarded at Mendip Road
The Construction of 10Nr. General Needs houses and flats, achieving Code Level 6, has recently been completed for CHP, in conjunction with Flagship Housing Group, at Mendip Road, Chelmsford!

Mendip Road is a carbon-neutral housing scheme and has been awarded a Level 6 rating – this being the highest award possible from the Communities and Local Governments Code for Sustainable Homes. With only a few Schemes having achieved Code Level 6, this award makes Mendip Road one of the first developments and the biggest to officially receive this exceptional rating.
The development was officially opened by MP Simon Burns and the Deputy Mayor of Chelmsford. Children from the local primary school were also at the opening to join in with the proceedings.
The Scheme – which was constructed on a former under used garage site - incorporates many sustainable features, including a communal biomass boiler, triple glazing and photovoltaic solar panels. All of these measures give residents a greener way of living and the benefit of reduced energy bills.
Oxbury & Company Limited were appointed as Project Managers/Employer’s Agents for the Scheme from its inception. The Scheme Architect was Ingleton Wood and the Main Contractor was McCann Homes.
